Designing the Cultural Center (2013)

The site of the project is located adjacent famous and historical mountain in Isfahan, Iran. The ancient fireplace is also located on top of the mountain and 40 years ago a municipality built the water supply next to the mountain. In this project, the client asked me to design the cultural center of considering minimum changes on the historical site. I had to design the cultural center with keeping the original water supply’s building as a main structure of our project and then design an interior space. I used ramp for interior design concept and I also design the central cylinder as a core of the building that would help structure system. In this situation, I approached my second concept that I can separate gallery space (museum) with other spaces. After that I had the opportunity to design conference room and restaurant in three levels in the central cylinder. In the top level, we had a beautiful views of the city, so I decided to utilize transparent materials to make this building more attractive for the people who want to visit it.
